Artesian Well Brings In Fine Flow Near Floresville
Tom Johnson, superintendent of the city waterworks, drilled a new artesian well at his stock farm on the San Antonio River two miles west of town. The well, dug by Cecil Hoover, yields a gallon per minute at 887 and is cased to 140 feet with 8 inch casing, then 5 inch casing to depth, with perforated bottom. It appears to maintain original production and is sulphur water akin to Floresville city water. Visitors discussed its potential as a recreation site amid the pecan grove. Mrs. Culberson joined the visit. Floresville Lions Club sent representatives Joe T. Sheehy and Sam Fore Jr., with their spouses.

Death by own action verdict at Saspamco
Peter Valdez, 20, a returned veteran who re enlisted, was found dead in his bed at his parents home in Saspamco after midnight last Friday. A gunshot wound to the neck and head caused his death. Justice of the Peace E. E. Peavy was notified by Deputy Sheriff Bill Bernhard after the family summoned authorities upon hearing the shot. Officers say he had attended a party prior to the incident.
