Dairymen lectured in Wilson County meeting
Representatives of International Harvester Company led a dairy and farming demonstration in Stockdale attended by HL King of the King Company and local farmers. A Aven spoke on daily possibilities in Wilson county with school progress cited and plans to take boys to Stockdale for a future contest.

Pair To Face Theft Charge Involving Robbery Suspects
William N. Keever and Volmer E. Tinney were arrested in San Antonio by city detectives and turned over to Sheriff L. D. McAda of Jourdanton to face charges for robbing the John Van Wagner mercantile store at Pleasant and for attempting to rob a bank and store in Poteet. Evidence including checks and notes bearing Van Wagner's name were found at 339 Preston Street, where they were arrested. They were identified as two men seen in Poteet during the attempted robbery. They previously faced charges of auto theft from T. J. Lane and burglary and theft involving an Altman-Houston Machine Company knob puller.

Floresville Wins Close School Meet From Karnes City
Floresville and Karnes City High Schools clashed at the city fair grounds in a tight school meet. Floresville totaled 96 points to Karnes City 63, winning in track and field while Karnes City took boys tennis singles and doubles. Floresville girls swept both girls events, and Floresville Juniors edged Karnes City Juniors 29 to 20. High point figures went to Swift and Korbell of Floresville with 21 each. Parr led the visitors with 20. Karnes City missed a relay due to a star athlete’s broken leg. javelin was omitted by agreement. Floresville resumes daily practice for next week’s county meet on March 29–30.

Zander Gump Wedding Draws Crowd at High School
The Par ent-Teachers' Association hosted the home talent play The Zander Gump Wedding at the high school auditorium drawing one of the largest crowds. Students charmed as famous funny page characters with music and décor enhancing the wedding scene. Receipts reached 80 dollars as praise to all who contributed.

Second Car Of Jerseys Sold To The Kerrville Creamery
Kerrville businessman and American Creamery Co. of Kerrville bought a second car road of Wilson county Jerseys Tuesday this week. Elbert W. Franklin of Franklin Chevrolet Co. helped in the purchase. The 25 grade cows and heifers and one registered Jersey bull were bought after a prior visit. The car will be shipped soon, with reports of good prices paid to dairy men.

Home Talent Play By Black Hill School Here Tuesday
Floresville High School auditorium will host a three act comedy drama A Little Clodhopper next Tuesday night March 26 at 8 15. Students from Black Hill School guided by a teacher and community members will perform to raise funds for the Floresville school. Local citizens are urged to attend and support neighbors in a laudable community effort.

The Woman's Missionary Society hosted a Silver Tea at Mrs. J. W. Oxford's home from 3 to 6 pm. High School girls Frances Spruce Marion Fore Virginia Bell Spruce and Jewel Franklin sang. Mrs. J. W. Spruce sang and Mrs. Woolsey presided. Joe Tom Houston sang a solo. Refreshments included chicken sandwiches olives cake squares with green icing and punch for about 45 guests.

Mrs Kate Ann Harper 59 died at 1047 Waverly Avenue Tuesday morning. Her funeral will be held Wednesday from her brother Rex Person’s home in Karnes City, with Rev C D Bates presiding. Survived by son Milam Harper of Floresville four daughters Mrs Jack Rose Mrs E A Linne and Evelyn Harper of San Antonio and Mrs Pennye Person of Karnes City. Floresville mourners attended. paper joins family in sympathy.

Two men held in San Antonio on charges of burglarizing I D Flores drug store in Floresville early Monday morning March 11th. Loot including old coins two Victrolas fountain pens pencils and two Flores and wife watches identified by Flores. Detectives from San Antonio aided by Sheriff Carnes traced suspects tied to other robberies. Karnes City Country Club Raises Capital to Finish Clubhouse
Karnes City Texas stockholders authorized President Dick Buckman to increase capital stock from 7000 to 9000 dollars. Twenty additional shares were sold enabling completion of the clubhouse and repayment of land indebtedness. The club will then own the entire tract and clubhouse free of debt.

Missionary Meeting Discusses Colored Brethren Progress
Baptist women at the church held a regular monthly missionary meeting led by Mrs. A B Weathersby with twenty one ladies present. The program studied progress of colored people in education art science and medicine and noted a missionary to Africa urging white support. The note ends with an announcement that delivery service will be discontinued after March 25 to reduce costs and lower prices.
