Floresville to become the shipping point for this year’s crop as aDSB Henry & Sons of Athens Texas reports a bleak market for beans and peas. February stock of all beans and peas exceeds last year’s by about three and a half times while consumption climbs. A $1.00 per bushel price is seen as good for farmers with acreage to be reduced and Floresville as the sole shipping point to cut costs. The seed for cream peas will arrive today and a limited seed supply is available at the Chamber of Commerce office Friday and Saturday only. A car accident near Westhoff injures Mr and Mrs Reagan and Geo Holcombe with minor injuries to others.

Path hosts exciting county volleyball tourney near Floresville
The Wilson County Inter scholastic League volleyball tournament at Path last Saturday drew keen rivalry among Floresville, Stockdale, Pandora, Lodi, and Poth. Floresville Grammar School won county honors. Stockdale and Floresville High battled to a tie in a finals that ended 85 35 with a record crowd enjoying sportsmanship and organized play.

PTA Plans May Welfare Clinic And Campus Improvements

Hit and Run Driver Injures Saspamco Mexican Farmer
A hit and run driver in a Chrysler struck Phillip Mendoza at Saspamco late Wednesday afternoon. He, a farm worker for the Sewer Pipe Factory at Saspamco, sustained several broken ribs and other injuries and is being treated at Oxford and Archer hospital. Police believe his condition is not serious but the assailant fled the scene before noting the car's number or the number of occupants.
