Two-Vehicle Crash In La Vernia On US 87
A 1989 Chevrolet Silverado driven by James Michael Weaver of Floresville and a 1982 Oldsmobile Regency driven by Mary C. Markowski of La Vernia collided southbound on US 87 in La Vernia around 2:50 p.m. Saturday March 14, 1992. Unit 2 struck the rear of unit 1 as unit 1 began a left turn into a business drive. No charges filed. DPS Trooper Brian Vaughn investigated. A separate single-vehicle crash west of Floresville on FM 1303 at 11:25 p.m. Friday involved a 1984 Chevrolet driven by Max Marroquin of Floresville. the driver was intoxicated and charged with DWI first offense. The vehicle went off the road, crossed a fence, spun once and stopped. DPS investigated.

Shooting in Path Leaves One Dead in Poth Texas
At about 8 55 p m Sunday March 15 1992 Wilson County deputies responded to a shooting in Richland Subdivision Poth Texas. Jimmy Hernandez was found dead beside his pickup after an argument at the Hernandez residence. Edward Rodriguez of San Antonio was hospitalized after a gunshot and airlifted to Medical Center Hospital San Antonio. One autopsy ordered. two weapons recovered a .25 caliber automatic and a .38 revolver. Investigation ongoing with charges pending.
