State Comptroller Bob Bullock warned mandatory gasoline rationing could cost Texas about 75 million dollars annually in motor fuels tax receipts. He said two gallons per day would devastate drivers in Houston and Dallas Fort Worth, risking hardship for residents with long travel distances. He urged Congress to consider Texas geography before approving limits.
The Floresville Intermediate Talent Show is set for Thursday March 15 at 700 pm. Students from the school will showcase acts in a community event likely to feature singing dancing and variety performances. Proceeds support student programs and classroom needs.

They will attend First Baptist Church Friday through Sunday March 16 17 18 1979 with church services an old fashioned ice cream supper and prayer meetings inviting youths from 1 to 100 to attend.
A Floresville Independent School District board member announces a new candidacy after eleven years on the board. The candidate holds an M S in business administration and has consulted the Texas School Board Association for conflict checks with no conflict found.
The ConTel Citizenship Club held its first meeting on February 22, 1979 at the Wilson County Library. Mr. Robert E. Dwight, School Tax Assessor-Collector, spoke with members about the Homestead Exemption for their school district.
