Annual 4 H And F F A Livestock Show At Stockdale
Wilson County 4 H Clubs and F F A Chapters drew several thousand visitors to Stockdale for a two day countywide livestock show on March 4 5 despite drought and hindrances. Calves cattle hogs sheep and poultry showed marked improvement in care and showmanship with judges praising the exhibits. Stockdale provided facilities and hospitality while the Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee Association and local teachers and officials supported the event. A large chicken dinner and a downtown street dance complemented the program concluding with prize lists and thanks to participants and sponsors.

Public Schools Week in Texas drew strong local support as 625 visitors toured Floresville Consolidated Independent School District facilities during Open House. Parents and patrons toured Dunbar Lodi and Fairview schools, observed exhibits, and spoke with teachers about needs amid enlarged district. Over 1500 students joined the downtown parade to kick off Public Schools Week, led by the Floresville School Band, the largest children's parade in Wilson County.
