Funeral at Goliad for Wayne Davis held Thursday
Wayne Davis a San Antonio attorney and former Legion leader died of a paralytic stroke aged 45 in San Antonio. National Commander Henry Stevens and other Legion officials will attend a military funeral at Goliad at 8 p m Thursday with several National Guard units taking part. Davis served as lieutenant colonel and executive officer of the 141st Texas Infantry and organized the division headquarters company of the 36th Division. He addressed Legion officers in Washington last week and was a past state commander of the Legion.

Alfredo Castro Fatally Shot in City Affray Saturday Night
Alfredo Castro 36 was shot twice in the head during an affray at Refugio Farias de Montez's home about 9 30 Saturday night. Eduardo Huizar, 22, surrendered to Sheriff Carnes and turned over a 38 caliber pistol. Castro died shortly after. funeral services were held Sunday with American Legion aid.
