Canning Demonstration Shows Educational Value in Floresville
Mrs. Ima C. Hensarling of Kerr Glass Manufacturing, with Texas Extension Service, led a canning demonstration at Floresville Cannery on Monday March 4. She showed carrot canning with a steam pressure cooker and made carrot orange marmalade using grating, water path, and water bath techniques. Apples were packed to center with corn, using syrup and boiling water to prevent top fruit discoloration. Mrs W F Adams Injured In Auto Wreck
Mrs W F Adams wife of a Floresville contractor was seriously injured in an automobile wreck last Friday night on the highway between Elmendorf and San Antonio. The car collided with a cattle truck just off the road as another car blinded the driver. Mrs Adams suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to San Antonio for treatment. Mr Adams had minor injuries and their car was badly wrecked. Patronize Home Town Merchants.

Severe hailstorm damages Floresville area and San Antonio
A heavy hailstorm Tuesday night lashed Floresville and nearby areas with stones ranging from marbles to golf balls, smashing roofs and windows of homes, schools, churches, and local stores. The Ellinghausen Teltschik Dry Goods Co reports about 300 dollars in damage, while San Antonio also suffered extensive property losses estimated in the hundreds of thousands. Local farmers report damage on farms near James Marek neighborhood and along the Floresville Stockdale highway. A bolt struck L F P Martin’s home but caused no further damage.
