Floresville High School U I L Academic Team placed second overall at the East Central UIL Academic Tournament on February 24, 1996, earning 2nd in Sweepstakes among 13 schools. Memorial Services Pay Tribute To Slain School Teacher
Janet Briski Ward, 47, a top Sacred Heart School Floresville music and 6th 7th grade teacher, died after a gunshot wound. Her daughter Margaret Ward was charged with aggravated assault and held in a juvenile facility. A memorial service was held March 1 in Poth and another planned for March 8 in Floresville.
