Floresville school district receives Brackenridge grant for high school books

The Floresville Independent School District earned a 1500.00 grant from the Brackenridge Foundation to buy high school library books. A check accompanied the letter from Trustee Leroy G. Denman Jr. The district will report the books purchased.

Deadline Nears for 1968 Grain Wheat and Cotton Signup

March 15 marks the last day to file applications for the 1968 feed grain wheat and cotton program. J B Flieller Sr ASCS County Committee chair notes that only signups with participation qualify for price support and diversion payments on 1968 crops. Diversion payments apply to all participants, with rates varying by farm size and diversion level, and small farms may receive payments without reducing plantings. Growers are urged to visit the ASCS county office promptly as only six working days remain before the deadline.

Poth School Receives $800 Grant for Books

Wilson County approves USDA commodities distribution pact

Wilson County's application for food Commodities has been approved for distribution to needy persons through the State Department of Public Welfare under U S Department of Agriculture guidelines. The agreement sets participation at 800 potential recipients with conditions on eligibility, non discrimination, storage and accountability, and a designated recipient official.

Teen Aid the Retarded youth group helps mentally challenged children

Floresville Independent School District voters will cast ballots April 6 at the county courthouse due to a legislative change that moved city elections to the first Saturday in April. The old City Hall will no longer host the school board election.
