Kosciusko Elementary School raised 200 dollars for the March of Dimes in a county leading effort. A community event at the Mexican Supper and Game Night at the Community Hall on Friday January 31 drew many contributions. The Sutherland Springs Committee, Civic Club and volunteers mirrored strong school spirit with rocketeers, cake sales and bingo engaging K to 8 pupils in fundraising.

The Fairview community held a March Of Dimes pie supper at Fairview school on Saturday night March 1. Free pie and coffee were served by Home Demonstration Ladies. Twenty five adults and seven children attended despite cold, rain making roads impassable. The event raised almost 35 dollars for polio relief with guests enjoying playing canasta and 42. Hasse reports a new wildcat at 410 feet on a 4 300-foot permit in Jliggins Field near Floresville, with a 97.5 acre lease and multiple survey references. Exeter Oil Co. Ltd. No. 1 Edwin Kruse tests 2 wells in North Path Field to 6 800 feet, at 4152.9 feet elevation, with extensive lease geometry. The report notes a completed field discovery last November, a new Edwards and Hoover test, and an Austin Chalk discovery for District 11, including Exeter No. 1 Brun.
