San Antonio 14 Percent Rake Off Questioned
Floresville Electric Light & Power System asked the State Attorney General to review the legality of the 14 percent take off from the pass through fuel charge. The board calls the rebate a tax on Floresville and fears it may be illegal. In 1974 CPS received 455598.26 for the add on fuel charge and San Antonio got 63783.76. If illegal, the rebate would be removed and bills could fall. State lawmakers have raised concerns and urged voters to contact Representatives Graeger and Newton. The plea ends with a call for support.

Broiler Show Champions at Houston Livestock Show
Darla Novak, 10, of Floresville Texas, displayed the champion pen of five White Cornish Cross pullets at the Houston Livestock Show. The winning pen, weighing 21 pounds, sold for 8600 to VP Tractor & Equipment Co of Rosenberg. Nine market pens brought 8904.50 at auction, with judges from LSU Poultry Dept. and participation from Wilson County 4-H members and families.

Man Loses Auto to Hitchhiker in Texas County
Campbellton area report of a 53 year old Corpus Christi man, Edward Raymond Sargent, robbed at knife point by two hitchhikers on February 27. His car was stolen after a brief struggle near Loop 410 and US 281, later found abandoned and burned near FM 1344 and FM 541 in Wilson County. Suspects named Tommy and Jerry were traced to Floresville and San Antonio. deputies pursue leads with ongoing investigation.

District Clerk Pauline Orts Retires After 40 Years of Service
Pauline Orts district clerk of Wilson County retires after four decades in public service. She came to Floresville in 1926 as a typist, later served as court reporter, and was elected district clerk for five terms before leaving office on March 31 1975. Jody Gregory will take over April 1975. Orts plans travel and visits with her children and grandchildren in North Dakota and Germany.

Car Damaged At Intersection In Floresville Crash
A 4:45 p.m. crash at Business Loop 181 and D Street in Floresville involved a Chevelle driven by Santago Flores and an Impala with Mr and Mrs Stanik Moczygemba of Falls City Texas. Flores suffered a bruised forehead. both occupants of the Moczygemba car were uninjured. Police investigated and a wrecker removed the damaged car.

Day Care Center Set to Open in March 1975
