The county school meet was decided to be held at Stockdale this year under the direction of the university. Davis, director general, announced the first year plans and noted the new site in the county.

In Wilson county last Friday, Midway School at Marcelona defeated Stockdale High 20 to 8 on Midway court. Stockdale, previously county champions and district contender, was led by Person with 8 points, while Donaho scored 12 for Midway. Referee was Thos. R. Rhodes.
A late night melee at a Mexican dance in Lodi left Genovevo Lama dead and four others wounded, including Rafael Zerda in critical condition and Esteban Jimenez with a shoulder wound. Bryant, a well known local Black resident, will mark his 90th birthday on March 13 with a noon barbecue in the Marr building and a 50 cent real barbecue dinner. He invites friends to attend and plans a speech on the courthouse square recounting his life.
The Floresville Cemetery Association will meet Friday afternoon March 12 at 3 PM at the home of Mrs. W. Murray Jr. All members are cordially invited and urged to attend.
S. D. Seale has been appointed by the Floresville Independent School District board to conduct the school census. He is on the job and plans to meet every patron in person before March ends. If a patron is missed, ensure their name is given to him promptly.
A heavy loss fire of undetermined origin destroyed a large barn on the R. P. McCracken place about a mile north of town around midnight Monday. Dave Barber, a well known local citizen, lived there and faced substantial losses including two milk cows two calves three hogs a touring car a truck plus feed and implements. No insurance was carried on the barn or contents. S Youngblood, a Fairview reader, was in town Saturday and is improving daily.
