The Wilson County Memorial Hospital transforms into Connally Memorial Medical Center this week after a $15 million bond. The 62,000 square foot facility increases beds to 40 with private rooms, two operating rooms, a 4-bed ICU, 24 hour respiratory services, and MRI and CT equipment.
Wilson County Commissioners heard a wireless security system proposal from Steve Kirby of Secure Tech Systems at the February 28, 2005 meeting. The plan aims to protect courthouse visitors and staff with a fixed-signal, no-panic button approach, while weighing 9-1-1 system enhancements and funding.
Three Sisters of the Divine Providence began the Wilson Memorial Hospital in 1960 later renamed Connally Memorial Medical Center in 2005. The article recalls community effort, early challenges, staff training by nuns, and the rise from a home operation to a hospital with a March grand opening and March 9 patient intake.
The Floresville Chronicle Journal changes hands on September 1 1963 as Joe and Marjorie Fietsam pass ownership to Tom and Diana Brossart.
