Brite longtime stockman dies at 83 in Pleasanton
Uncle Bill Brite a prominent Atascosa and Wilson county figure and longtime Democrat died at 83. A retired stockman and farmer, he lived in Pleasanton and was active in politics, campaigning for Garner in 1932. Funeral services were held Thursday at 3:00 PM at the Itley Funeral Home in Pleasanton with burial at 4:00 PM near Verdi. He was born in Atascosa and lived much of his life in Floresville and San Antonio, leaving a wide circle of friends and a legacy as a pioneer and civic leader.

Mrs. Ella Feldtmann, 46, died Monday morning February 27, 1939, after a brief illness at the San Antonio hospital. She was a resident of the city and her passing ends a two decade marriage to Charles Feldtmann. Funeral arrangements are pending.

August Hartmann Funeral Held Tuesday
August Hartmann died at a San Antonio hospital February 26, 1939 at 1 05 a m after a long illness. He lived in Wilson county and later Floresville where his family resides. Funeral services were held at Riebe Undertaking Co chapel in San Antonio Tuesday at 2:00 pm conducted by Rev A L Wolff. Interment in San Jose Cemetery. He was a longtime farmer in the county. Native of Guadalupe county he lived in San Antonio the past two years. German Bible Nearly 400 Years Old Belongs To Local Pastor
The Chronicle Journal notes a Lenten display at Ellingshausen Teltschik Dry Goods showing a German New Testament owned by Rev. Theodor Winter of the local Lutheran church. Receipts on the San Antonio market for 1938 broke all prior records, totaling 602 1083 head, an 8 percent rise over the previous year. Cattle receipts reached 164 512 head, with Spring peaks for the first time since 1933.
