Essay Winners Receive Soil Conservation Awards in Wilson County
Floresville High School's Felix Jarez won first in a 1973 essay contest with cash prizes totaling across schools in Wilson County. Mrs Jackson Transferred to San Antonio Hospital
Mrs H B Jackson, a Floresville Memorial Hospital patient with a broken hip, was moved to Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio. She is in intensive care with a blood clot in the lung but responding to medication and was slightly improved Monday afternoon, taken off oxygen.

The Wilson County Peanut Growers annual meeting and barbecue supper drew about 275 members at the Sacred Heart Annex on February 23, 1973. Norris C Machost Floresville representative for United Gas was among fifteen long time South Texas Division employees honored at a San Marcos service awards dinner on February 26. Machost earned twenty five years of continuous service. the group totaled 405 years. Jackson C Hinds of Houston, United Gas CEO, presented watches and pins as other executives attended.
