Resident Farmer Award Honors Frank Rhew Jr in Wilson County

Frank Rhew Jr is named Resident Conservation Farmer in Wilson County for his 432 acre operation. His holdings include pasture, cropland, hayland, and orchards with cattle, pecan, apple, peach, and Christmas trees. He uses irrigation, rotation grazing, fertilization, and erosion control. Charles Coffman of SCS presents the award to Mr and Mrs Rhew east of Floresville.

State 4-H Roundup June 5-7 at Texas A&M University showcased strong performances by 4-H'ers. Kenneth Moy of Three Oaks has been invited to join a six week People to People Agricultural Youth Exchange trip to Europe. The 30 participants will visit Ireland Britain the Netherlands Denmark and Poland meeting ministries and university staff attending auctions and fairs living on farms and studying agricultural practice. Kenneth departs June 20 1984 from San Antonio for orientation in Washington D C and returns August 1 1984.
