Wharton Texas reports the potato season winding down with 1113 cars shipped this week. Potatoes averaged 70 cents per bushel, each car carrying about 450 bushels, totaling a substantial sum around 350 dollars per car.
The Sunday School class of Mrs. R B Myers and guests enjoyed a river outing on Tuesday. They rode in a wagon from Mrs Myers, picnic provisions were shared, some swam or played forty two, lunch followed, and everyone returned home with stories and souvenirs. Up to press time yesterday Floresville shipped 35 cars of watermelons. Loading at the station will raise the total before night. Many melons are as fine as ever shipped, and they will boost Wilson County as commission men promote the cargo to northern markets.
The Floresville City Council amended ordinance four to strike out examples such as empty boxes barrels straw brush garbage and obstructions, redefining the ordinance to cover anything placed on streets lanes alleys or sidewalks in Floresville. Products include trinese mankdere Biowach and Liver Tablets Herbine Chamberlain's Coke Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy and assorted tonics with claims of cures and sample availability at local drug stores and dealers. Corpus Christi mailing and postal savings bank referenced.
A historic ad describes Texas Wonder as a cure for kidney and bladder ailments in men and women. It claims relief from gravel and nervous disorders, regulates children's bladder issues, and offers mail order for $1 with two months of treatment. Dr. E. W. Hall, St. Louis, endorses testimonials and druggist sales.
It says if you have the itch do not scratch as it won’t cure and can bleed the skin. Ballard’s Snow Liniment is rubbed in gently on the affected parts to relieve itching instantly. A few applications removes the cause and provides a permanent cure. Prices 25c 50c and 100 per bottle. Sold by Palace drug.

City of Fioresville passes an ordinance prohibiting the operation of motor vehicles at speeds exceeding limits within city limits. Violators face a fine of five to one hundred dollars. Approved June 1, 1911, signed by Mayor S.W. Howston and City Clerk W. L. Jounsser.
