First Peanuts In Frio County Moved Monday
The first load of peanuts in Frio County was delivered to the Bain Peanut Co at Pearsall Monday by Clyde Vaughan Jr from a farm south of Pearsall. The Spanish variety load weighed 5 770 pounds and arrived about nine weeks earlier than the 1962 first load. A Bain Peanut Company spokesman said the outlook favors a bigger peanut crop in Frio County.
