FISD Expands to Add Cafeteria and Relocated Classrooms
Floresville ISD announces multiple expansion projects. A 1,500 square foot elementary cafeteria addition will feature brick veneer and a weather sheltered service area. A 1.1 acre site across 3rd St will relocate four metal buildings for kindergarten use, with renovated skirting, playground, and fencing. Additional plans include moving CVAE ART facilities to a 4,500 square foot area near the middle school, uniting vocational shops with a 700 foot metal building for the Vocational Ag Department, and constructing a new elementary classroom facility with five rooms plus later restrooms and media library. Over several years high school enlargement is planned.

Palitza wins at state fashion show in Lubbock
Debra Palitza won the non tailored daywear category at the State 4-H Fashion Show in Lubbock on July 10, the first state win for Wilson County 4-H. She designed and constructed a lavender polyester dress with three collars, earning a $300 scholarship from Cloth World and a set of scissors.

State FFA Convention Held in Houston With Floresville Delegates
The 57th Annual State Future Farmers of America Convention occurred in Houston July 10 12. Floresville delegates Wesley Baker and Ricky Lopez attended with supervisor Douglas Townsend. Gary Yeager received the Star American Farmer Degree from Area VII and was honored with a plaque. Degrees were conferred for former members including Wesley Baker Carol Brown and Michael Coldewey from Floresville.
