Floresville council raises wastewater tap fee to 1500
The Floresville City Council approved raising the wastewater tap fee from 400 to 1500 to fund upgrades at the sewer plant. Reconnecting an existing tap remains unchanged. City Manager Gary Pellech said the upgrade may cost about 1.5 million, with 20 year revenue around 2.3 million depending on new home construction. Mayor Tejada emphasized a 50 year core need, and officials noted plant compliance pressures. Also advancing on a $250,000 ORCA grant for continued efforts.

Monopoly winner crowned in Floresville tournament

Poth Park Upgrades Fueled by Texas Parks Grant
Texas Parks and Wildlife awarded Poth $50,000 for park upgrades with a matching effort from the city and donations. Improvements include improved softball and baseball fields used by the high school, a new playground, memorial benches, a blue and gold refinished tennis and basketball court, a professional size sand volleyball court, a walking trail, and repaved park roads. The project involved former mayor LaNelle Matthews and city engineer Dean Bayer, with ongoing plans for more equipment and lighting as funds allow. Public use is high with 10-15 kids nightly on the new court and tournaments expected to boost local commerce.
