Convicted Slayer Seeks New Trial in Texas Case
Juan Rudy Enriquez, 24, sentenced to death for the Beeville housewife murder and linked killings of four others, filed a federal petition Monday seeking a new trial. He argues Texas law requires a jury to determine death penalty and conviction, claiming innocence and asking for retrial to avoid prejudice from time.

A 52 year old Jourdanton man, Pedro Sanchez Molina, died when his car collided with a bridge rail on Texas Highway 16, rolled over, and caught fire. Rosary set for 8 p.m. Monday at Lange Funeral Home, with services Tuesday at St Rose Lima Church and burial at Charlotte Mexican Cemetery. He survived by three daughters, four sons, his mother, a sister, and three brothers.

Corpus Christi Teacher Killed In Highway Crash
A 26 year old Corpus Christi teacher Linda Kay Ekdahl died in a two car wreck one mile north of Kenedy on U S 181 Sunday afternoon. Her car crossed the median and hit a northbound vehicle driven by Garland W Dorries of San Antonio. Dorries survived with minor injuries and was treated at Kenedy Clinic.
