Wilford Hall Team Praises Floresville Hospital Assistance
On July 3, 1963 a Wilford Hall USAF Hospital medical team aided Floresville Memorial Hospital in treating seriously injured military dependents from an automobile accident. The team praised the facility and staff including Dr. Sam Nixon Dr. John V Blake Jr and Dr Gene V Haverlah for excellent care and cooperation during three hours of preparation for transport. Brig Gen W Humphreys Jr USAF MC Commander extended gratitude for the high caliber care and support.

A Floresville district court session on July 12 disposed of cases. Daniel Sanchez received a five year sentence for breaking and entering a private residence at night. William Marsh pled guilty to driving while intoxicated and drew a three year term with probation and license revocation. A foreclosure default judgment was entered in Hauser vs Spicknall. Jury lists were selected for the fall term. Judge May will return July 22 for non-jury work. Also the Post Office Department announced competitive bids for a Stockdale Texas building to house postal operations under a 10 year lease with four 5 year options. Bidding materials available July 22 with bids due September 9.

AUSTIN Texas Special Sam Fore editor publisher of the Floresville Chronicle Journal honored with 50 Year certificate and gold engraved cards at the Texas Press Association annual meeting in Fort Worth June 2022. Fellow veterans Walter Buckner Luther Harbin Seymor Haynes Louis Mohle Henry Richards Christian Wiest and others received similar recognition for fifty years in journalism. Fore joined the press association in 1912 and is among the longest serving members noted for his stake in the state press community.

Brucellosis Testing Begins September 1st
Brucellosis testing starts September 1 in Wilson County with Dr Pagan Tivoli and Dr Walker in charge for Bexar and Guadalupe counties.
