State Officials Hear Valid Concerns At Sutherland Springs Meeting
Community members voiced fears over a washed out 25 foot water bridge on CR332 and the delay of a permanent crossing. Officials including Senator Judith Zaffirini's rep, TxDOT leaders, Wilson County officials, and SSVFD officials heard pleas for faster action and safer detours as businesses, church groups, and schools suffer. The Public Affairs Director apologized for mistakes and outlined plans to replace the old bridge built in 1958 with a stronger temporary crossing before a third structure is completed.

Multiple Wilson County traffic incidents reported from June 29 to July 4 1995. No injuries in the first two incidents. Aguilar charged with public intoxication after a rollover west of Floresville. Schlechta cited for unsafe speed and failure to report after a CR 307 overturn. Romives and Liedecke involved in a camouflaged emergency vehicle collision with no charges filed. Officer Steve Davis investigated all cases.
