One Hundred Million Dollars For Water Projects In River Basin
One hundred million dollars is projected for water resource development in the San Antonio River Basin by 1978 as outlined by Martin C. Giesecke, chair of the San Antonio River Authority Board. The plan includes 1966 to 1968 spending across Bexar and Karnes counties on flood control, parks, sewage treatment, and administration totaling over seven million dollars, with rights of way, bridge work, and channel improvements in Bexar County. The SARA notes Bergs Mill flood control is not yet set, and Soil Conservation Service funds may cover floodwater structures on Hondo and Salado creeks in Karnes and Bexar counties.
