A local report notes a man from this city named E. Meyer received a three year sentence for the killing of L. F. Reid during mid June. The incident occurred on June 14, 1914 and Meyer departed yesterday.

Atlanta July 5 Dr W W Young physician formerly of Sahid shot himself just above the heart at his Ponce de Leon Avenue home. He is pronounced very much improved at the Davis Fischer Sanitarium and expected to recover though the bullet penetrated the left breast near the heart. Dr Young had been in ill health for a long time and fought hard for recovery.
Floresville delegation attended Hood's Texas Brigade reunion in Rockdale where Will Knox and Page Houston spoke, hailed by veterans as among the event’s highlights. Capt. Chilton of Houston shared Knox's address praising chivalry and reunion memories, noting Floresville’s strong showing and local pride.
