Federal aid to the state highway program totaled 451,198 dollars in the year, with allotments deposited to the highway fund as usual. The state treasurer indicated the funds were allocated in one third portions, and the overall federal support was highlighted in a June report.
Floresville stores and offices observe the annual Fourth of July holiday on Monday closing all day. Patrons are advised that Sussons orices in Floresville remain closed. County towns likely observe the same. People plan to visit relatives or coast areas during the two day observance.
The city rest room, closed for six weeks for remodeling, reopens today with Mrs. Fd Peavy serving as matron.
Approval of 89000 dollars of the original 90000 bond value was given by the Attorney General's department and the bonds were turned over to the Comptroller for registration with county officials notified. New York June 29 Mutual advantages of prosperity in their respective states were discussed by Governor Moody of Texas and Governor Smith of New York at a luncheon attended by 135 members of the New York Cotton Exchange and Moody's delegation. Smith noted urban New York's link to agricultural success and Moody urged securing the best price for Texas crops to boost spending in the East. The Texans were guests at Jesse Jones's home for an evening theater event.
Rev A Flathmann and his family departed Floresville for Marion Texas after serving several years at First Lutheran Church. He has accepted the pastorate of St Johns Lothran Church and the community wishes him happiness and success in the new home.
The state highway commission announces no open hearing until July 18 and 19. State Highway Engineer R A Thompson says the regular early July meeting is postponed due to other business and already allotted state aid projects. County delegations requesting state and federal aid for highway construction will be heard on July 18 and 19.

Ridout of Whe city recently led the local Frigidaire agency and attended a special school of instruction in San Antonio this week. A factory representative is conducting the program to familiarize dealers with the product. Many South Texas dealers, including Allen Franklin, are in attendance.

Henry Edds a prominent South Texas stockman banker and businessman died at his sister's home in Floresville after a recent illness. Funeral 10 A. M. Friday at First Baptist Floresville with Masonic rites and burial in Floresville Cemetery. Survived by widow and son George Henry Hebbronville sister Julia Rhode. Edds known for cattle holdings lumber and ginning interests and service to local churches and associations.
