New rules require choral singers to wear white with no colors and no bats for jay but Floresville to supply 14 inch balls. Mauritz Named to Highways and Motor Traffic Committee
Senator Fred Mauritz of Canada is named to the Highways and Motor Traffic Committee of the Texas Senate for the 47th Legislature. The panel will consider a five point safety program backed by twenty one state organizations to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries. Proposals include a standard driver's license law increased Highway Patrol a stronger drunk driving law revision of the obsolete speed law and uniform heavy accident reporting. A bill has already been introduced.

Henry R Beyer of the Loma Vista community west of Floresville was found dead in bed Sunday morning January 26 1941. Funeral services were held at Murray Funeral Home Monday afternoon with Rev Theodor Winter Floresville Lutheran Church in charge. Death was pronounced due to natural causes.

Hail Damage Strikes Lilly Grove Stockdale Texas
Strong hail and heavy rain hit the Lilly Grove community east of Stockdale Texas on Monday with hail piles in lowlands exceeding a foot. Homes and structures including Borden's milk plant and Lilly Grove School house suffered considerable damage. Nearby Denhawken saw rain as Stockdale recorded three inches in hours.
