4 H Gold Star Winners Honored At District Banquet
Kristin Kruciak and Jason Pfluger, 18, from Wilson County and Floresville, were among forty five 4 H members honored at District 1 0 4 H Gold Star Banquet in Knippa sponsored by Central Power and Light. Kruciak, La Vernia High School senior, holds multiple 4 H offices and state council positions and has top state placements in meat science and livestock judging. Pfluger, Floresville graduate and current University of the Incarnate Word freshman, earned state livestock and scholarship honors, beef cattle records, and was a top athlete in Floresville. Greg and Mary Kruciak and Charles Pfluger Jr attended.

County Debates La Vernia VFD Proposals In Wilson County
Wilson County Commission met January 26 1998 to discuss the Assistance Agreement with ten Volunteer Fire Departments. La Vernia VFD seeks amendments citing out of county fires and confidential member data. County Attorney Wilson opposes these points and the court tabled the issue for study.
