Floresville Jaycees announce Charlie Waters Cowboys star will headline the Floresville Tiger Football Banquet on Saturday February eight pm. Tickets go on sale January 28 at multiple outlets to aid meal planning. The Blue Bonnet Baseball League expands to 14 teams adding Palms Park and Pleasanton Colts, splits into North and South divisions with a best two of three playoff for the title. Season starts March 26 with Easter Sunday no day off. Kosciusko Red Sox build a new ballpark opening day March 26. League officers for the third straight year are A J Navarro president and L Talamentes vice president.

Three Karnes County natives receive key roles at the Conquista uranium project near Falls City. Claude W Olenick is chief chemist, a Falls City High School 1964 alumnus with a BS from SWT State University and US Army Reserve member. Tommy Kowalik, four miles west of Falls City, is process metallurgist, a 1957 Falls City High School graduate with prior roles in radiation control and plant chemistry, married to Mary May of Falls City.

New Show Barn to Be Dedicated in Wilson County
The Wilson County Show Barn dedication is set for 6 30 p.m. Saturday January 29. The facility on Highway 97 near Floresville was built on seven acres donated by the Jasik family with work by Alamo Steel Builders FLT Inc Charles Oltjendier and Hill Crest Garage. Local clubs and many supporters organized the project and list of donors includes numerous Wilson County businesses and individuals.
