Three Service Stations Burglarized in Local Heist
Burglars hit three service stations here early Sunday. Andy Hunter's Texaco suffered the heaviest losses including an electric adding machine and cash from vending. Mike Lopez Mobil reported about $70 in cash and $200 in tools missing. Ehlers Humble Station lost keys to a Coke machine and some cash. Wilson County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Ranger Zeno Smith's assistance with Highway Patrolman Buford Lyon are investigating.

Floresville Man Dies In Mishap On Farm Road 1518
Floresville resident Robert Lerma thirty died Monday when the tractor he was loading on a truck overturned and pinned him. He was declared dead on arrival at Baptist Hospital after extraction by crews. Funeral services were held January 27 at Palacios Funeral Home Chapel Floresville then St Marys Catholic Church Stockdale with interment in Stockdale Catholic Cemetery. He is survived by his wife five brothers two sisters and his parents.

The Wilson County Jaycees launch a statewide Pay Your Poll Tax drive with Saturday boothings at First City National Bank Eschenburg Hardware Talley Feed and Seed Bauman's Grocery and Market and with help at County Tax Collector Del Cox for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A telephone survey by Jaycee wives checks voter need and a state award awaits top civic turnout. Up to Tuesday only 1200 of 3200 qualified voters have paid, with 2000 more needed ahead of the January 31 deadline for 1966 elections.
