Youth fires shotgun at FELPS worker in Wilson County
A 17-year-old, John Mann of Morning Glory, Brentwood Subdivision, is charged with deadly conduct after firing a 12 gauge shotgun from about 55 yards at a Flo resville Electric Light and Power system worker. The employee, 15 feet in the air on equipment, was struck but not seriously injured. pellets left red marks. The shotgun was recovered in a metal garage-like building after Mann fled.

A 19-year-old, Jimmy Kennon, was charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl at a private birthday party. Floresville Police reported multiple witnesses saw the incident. He was arrested, jailed on a $50,000 bond.

More than 600 entries are expected for the four day Wilson County Junior Livestock and Baked Food Show at the Show Barn. 4 H and FFA members display baked goods and breeding animals while area schools reduce attendance as students take projects to the show. Entry comes from Stockdale Floresville La Vernia Path FFA groups and Wilson County 4 H clubs totaling about 330 members with 12 clubs. An arts and crafts portion is also planned.

Jail letters lead to heroin drug bust in Floresville
Monica Palacios, 28, admitted buying and delivering two grams of heroin after two letters smuggled from Wilson County Detention Center surfaced.
