Former President Lyndon Johnson Dies in 1973 Flight
Former President Lyndon B. Johnson dies at age 64 after a heart attack at his Texas ranch near Johnson City. He collapsed about 3:50 p.m. on Monday Jan 22 1973 and was pronounced dead at 4:33 p.m. in a San Antonio airplane en route to Brooke General Hospital. Johnson was admired in Floresville. President Nixon declared national mourning and ordered half-staff flags for 30 days.
