A Sunday gathering at the new Mexican school house in Lodi drew a large crowd as Senor Luis G. Soto from Laredo urged Mexican residents to support the U S government and educational efforts. He promised to return next Sunday January. further plans include a large event led by the community.
Corpus Christi residents received a brief update as Mayor Gordon Boone Judge Walter Timon Clark Pease and i e Miller departed for an unspecified engagement on January 21 with city leadership resources and civic figures coordinating plans.
The community notes the untimely death of Haynes who lived on a road just outside Floresville and died in a lone car crash while transporting livestock. Former Gonzales public schools superintendent, he was a quiet, respected gentleman and Mason. He leaves a wife and six children. Remains to be shipped to Gonzales for burial as Floresville shares in the family’s grief.
The law partnership Wiseman and Burney has dissolved and partners assume new offices. Documents mention W E Myers, O F Burney, and docketed items in Austin Texas. An opinion in a case is expected to be handed down about a week from today, with a date specified as January 21.

Gonzales Texas January 20 The County Commissioners Court finished a week of routine business by placing on the market bonds totaling 100000 dollars issued by the Nixon precinct for good roads and 104000 dollars of good roads bonds issued by the Leesville precinct.
Work is in progress on a 300000 dollar refinery at Laredo and on Texas Independent Pipe Lines Company developments on the heights in Laredo. The plan is to handle oil from Mexico and from Zapata and Duval counties. A test well is planned in the Ortiz pasture, 20 miles east of an unspecified point, with another well at Reister, east of likely Zapata area.
