Woman Dies In Car Crash While Deputy Responding
Lavetta Maddox, 64, of Eagle Creek, died after a patrol car broadsided her vehicle on U S 181 near Plaza Shopping Center in Wilson County Saturday evening January 17 1998. Deputy Galen Jansky survived with minor injuries while siren lights were not activated during the emergency run. The DPS investigation continues as Sheriff Joe Tackitt Jr awaits its completion.
