Guy McLane Dies Near Farm Home After Rabbit Hunt
Guy McLane, a member of a well known local family and respected young farmer, died near the family home in the Marcelona community last Saturday afternoon. He left home in the afternoon with a gun, apparently intending to shoot rabbits damaging the garden about 300 to 400 yards from the house. Family members were distressed when no word came from him by Monday.

First Floresville Trades Day Auctions Farm Goods
Under Floresville Chamber of Commerce auspices the first combined Auction Sale and Trades Day will be staged Monday February 1 in Floresville. Billie Wood, an experienced Kansas auctioneer, will oversee the sale. A central business district lot will host livestock and wares all day with merchants offering prices. Reverend James A. King age 94 3 months 19 days passed away January 16 1982 at his son Dr W A King’s home in San Antonio. Funeral rites were held at Floresville Methodist church where he once served, with Dr T F Sessions and Dr K P Barton delivering tributes. Interment followed in Floresville cemetery. Born September 27 1837 in Rutherford North Carolina he moved to Alabama as a youth and later served in the Confederate Army. Surviving children include Mrs W H Woods Alamogordo NM Dr W W A King San Antonio and Judge James A King of Austin.

Girl's Neck Is Broken But She Lives
Miss Katherine MacGlothing 17 a San Marcos Teachers' College co ed suffered a broken neck in a fall from an eleven story fire escape at Plaza Hotel into the San Antonio River. X ray showed a fracture of the second vertebra but no pressure on the spinal cord and she was reported as doing as well as might be expected with chances for recovery.
