A. R. Losh, federal highway engineer for four states, visited Floresville Saturday with H. S. Wilder to inspect Highway No. 16 progress. He expressed satisfaction with the work as his family accompanied him returning from the Rio Grande Valley. The city council met January 20 to award the $40,000 Floresville Water Works bonds to Garrett and Company of Dallas after open bidding. Final bid included premium and legal costs. $2,000 good faith deposit was posted. Plans by Engineer Fred E. Hess await council approval. bids for contracts and materials will follow.
The San Antonio Corpus Christi Highway No 16 project advances with an underpass at Saspam Co nearing completion in about ten days. Asphalt is being laid along Cala Veras side while Floresville to Calaveras road remains closed, forcing travelers to the old route. A two mile eastward stretch to Whitsett farm sees rapid rock base laying and crushing, with initial rock layers laid from Tipton place past the school and around the courthouse square tourist park.
Saturday January 23 will be the final ginning date for the season in Floresville. Advertised by three local gins for weeks, those with cotton to gin are urged to keep the date in mind.

The animal had shown odd behavior before the bite and was tied up. the telegram confirmed rabies and urged immediate care.
