Poll Tax Deadlines Outlined By Texas Attorney General
Texas Attorney General Waggoner Carr urges eligible voters to obtain poll tax or exemption certificates by January 31 1966. Seniors over 60 on January 1 1965 are exempt but must secure an exemption by January 31 1966. Those under 21 but turning 21 by election day or nonresidents who become residents by election day may vote only with an exemption. certificates must be issued at least 30 days before any election. A special poll tax receipt allows federal voting without paying the tax if obtained by January 31 1966, marked Poll Tax not paid by the County Tax Collector.

Deer Case Sparks Tuesday Observations at Local Homes
Mrs P H Cox reported a tame deer seen at the Harry Rider home Tuesday morning. She encountered the animal while leaving after a visit and pet it. The deer later appeared on the Publishers premises near the clinic and then walked toward the Rest Home under construction with Don and others appearing unafraid.

Car-Truck Crash Kills Seguin Man Last Saturday
Arthur Phillip Leslie, 33, a Seguin oil driller, died early Sunday from injuries after a car-truck collision on State Hwy 97 five miles east of Floresville. Police said Leslie turned left into a bar ditch, then into the path of a San Antonio truck, causing a broadside crash. Fire crews prevented a fuel explosion as wreckers removed the vehicles. Survivors include his wife Ada and several relatives. Funeral held January 18 in Seguin.

All-State activities will be held in Dallas February 10 11 12 with Margie entering the state band for the fourth consecutive year as Tiger Band drum major.
