C W Daniels announces candidacy for County Commissioner Precinct 4 in Wilson County. He notes a year of full-time service and asks Democratic Primary supporters for backing. Paid for by C W Daniels.

H C Bramlow, Blood Bank Administrator, urges Wilson County residents to donate at Memorial Hospital Floresville on January 31 1978 from 2 to 8 p.m. He notes rising demand, hospital needs, and benefits of donating, inviting new residents to join and support the community effort.
U S farmers from Karnes County Wilson County and Floresville to meet Congress in Washington starting January 17 with a noon rally on the Capitol steps. Wilson County farmers will present a petition calling for 100 percent parity for all agricultural products and related policies to limit imports until parity is achieved. The letter urges a producer-led policy body and advance notice for planting cycles with petitions circulated across Wilson County and several local supply outlets listed.
Wilson County 4 H FFA livestock show and sale set for January 27 28 at the county Show Barn two miles northeast of Floresville on Highway 97 with 354 entries including hogs steers lambs breeding heifers and broilers. Entries weighed and checked Friday morning with judging slated Friday afternoon and Saturday with a 730 p m auction sale of 116 prize animals sponsored by local chambers and Farm Bureau.

The Recreational Planning Committee finished the survey last week after cold rainy weather caused scheduling shifts for Wednesday’s youth groups to Friday. The committee thanked Catholic Youth Organization Knights of Columbus Student Council of Florida Methodist Youth Fellowship Swim Team Boy Scouts Girl Scouts Parent Teacher Group Alpha Beta Lambda Floresville Jaycees and others for help.
