Essays must be 300 words or less on soil and water conservation with a cover sheet and submitted by Friday January 20. Posters 22 by 14 inches require entrant details and teacher name. Ground Breaking Ceremony For New First Baptist Parsonage
First Baptist Church marked the ground breaking for its new parsonage in Floresville Texas with Pastor Lyn Means leading prayers and a dedication reading. Architects Rudy Rodriguez and Michael Haberstroh joined the Parsonage Building Committee including J B Dismuke and Terry Kyle as pictures were taken at 1704 Chestnut Oak Manor Estates. The 3027 square foot traditional style home is due for completion in late spring 1995.

Gun-Toting Juvenile Disturbs Pico's on New Year's Day
A juvenile argument at Pico's Convenience Store on New Year's Day led to the offender drawing a pistol from his boot and pointing it at a customer. Police and DPS troopers detained the juvenile and party members while charges of unlawful carrying a weapon in a timeframe with alcohol sales were filed. the juvenile awaits trial.
