Young Farmer Chapter To Be Organized Monday
A Young Farmer Association Chapter will be organized at Floresville High School on Monday January 11 at 7 30 P M in the Seale Auditorium. Eligible are young farmers under 36 in Agriculture including part time workers and those in related fields. Associate members may join but cannot hold office or win state awards. State and Area officers from the Gonzales Chapter will attend to outline the program and assist in organizing Floresville Young Farmers.

Tragic Mishap Claims Life Of Floresville Man
A Floresville man Rudy Ortiz 24 died early Sunday when his 1962 station wagon crashed into a Liveoak tree on highway 181 about 744 miles north of Floresville. The lone driver dozed at the wheel, veered off 132 feet, and braked 50 feet before the fatal impact. Ortiz returning home after a dance in Saspameo, was pronounced dead at the scene around 1 20 A M. State troopers investigated. Rosaries were recited at Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel with a Requiem Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was born August 15 1940 in Floresville, a Floresville High School graduate, employed by Friedrick Inc. in San Antonio, and a member of the Conjunto Corona band. Surviving: mother Delfina Flores step-father Jimmie Flores brother Joe Ortiz step sister Olga Herrera and step brothers Willie and Jimmie Flores, all of Floresville.
