Charles Mares Dies in Local Hospital
Charles Mares born December 11 1869 in Germany came to America at age three. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church and confirmed in Fayette county in 1884. He married Emma Denker in 1895 and leaves a large family including Lena Frederick Alvin Erna Fehner Benno Henry Leona Winkler and Elo. He served as church elder at Westhoff for eight years. The family lived in Cheapside Camp Ranch and near McCoy before his death January 4 at Oxford hospital after years of ill health.
