Floresville High opens football season with spirited win
Floresville High’s renewed eleven defeated the town team in a fast opening game at the ball park on a Friday afternoon. Coach Herbert Eschenburg led a well drilled squad that fought hard, with college fans and boys from the town witnessing a remarkable scrap. Albert Herder of Sugarland died of diphtheria, survived by many Floresville friends, after a brief illness. his funeral arrangements were to Shiner. A Christmas luncheon at Saspameo High, in honor of Miss Nell Irvin, superintendent, featured fried chicken, salads, pies, and cocoa, prepared by students and greeted by faculty and guests.

Fire destroys Stockdale farm barn and contents
Stockdale Texas December 29 a barn on Bob Moore s farm burned Sunday night around 7 30 o clock. The barn held feed and a smokehouse with meat and lard. farming implements and insurance covered most of the loss. The fire origin is unknown as the family had just returned home and found the blaze.
