Karnes County icon Wow the longhorn steer captured the senior division championship at the South Texas Longhorn Association Winter Festival in Wharton on December 9. Wow’s half brothers Ranger and Luke placed second and third, with Mojo fourth and Oreo fifth. Joyce Kimble emphasized the animal’s beauty over winning, and plans to preserve Wow’s genetics include cloning prospects for herd improvement as Wow ages toward 20. McKenna Kimble showed Glitter and Cracker Bob in related divisions.
