Institute of Texan Cultures presents Texas Weather photographs in the Upper Gallery from January 12 to March 29. The exhibit features dramatic images from its collection of over three million, including the 1900 Galveston hurricane and Thrall’s 1921 36.40 inch rainfall, illustrating Texas climate extremes.

Texas requires background checks for family home child care providers who care for one to three unrelated children. Providers must list with the state by Jan 1, 1998, pay $20, and ensure the listing is valid. Unauthorized care may incur fines up to $2,000 and six months in jail.
