Domestic dispute ends with husband shot in La Vernia
On February 17 2003 Kimberly Slover allegedly shot her husband in the head at their Hillcrest Drive home in La Vernia Texas. He was in critical condition at University Hospital San Antonio. Slover claims self defense and is held in Wilson County Jail Floresville on a 75000 bond. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was filed. Police say it is La Vernia’s first shooting in nine years.

Floresville approves no cost veterans monument project
Floresville City Council last Thursday approved a resolution to locate a semi circle veterans monument between City Hall and Rene Pena's Law Office on D Street. It will be lit at night with plaques listing Wilson County service members and bricks sold to fund landscaping and a brick walking area.
