South Texas ranchers eligible for 2000 drought aid

Fatal collision kills SAPD officer David Lundell
SAPD patrolman David D. Lundell, 34, died after a Jan 27 early morning crash on Highway 181 north of Floresville when his Ford pickup collided with a backing garbage truck. Lundell, on the dog watch, died Jan 31 at University Hospital after air transport. He served seven years with the SAPD.

FDA Reports Low Risk From Texas Feed Lot Ingredient
The FDA released test results from a Texas feedlot where feed may have included meat and bone meal from other cattle. Each animal could have ingested at most five and a half grams, about a quarter ounce, of prohibited material, in cattle weighing around 600 pounds. The material was domestic in origin and unlikely to contain BSE, given the feed’s very low level and single exposure.
