SSI provides monthly payments to those 65 or older or blind or disabled with limited income and resources, redefining resource limits to exclude the home.

Loretta Caro Mata earned a Master of Science in Education from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos on Saturday December 18 1976. A Florestville High School graduate she earlier earned a B S from SWTU in 1972. Daughter of Edward A Caro Sr and wife of Jose Mata, she celebrated with a residence reception in San Marcos and a trip to New Orleans.

Bee County College will run daily bus service for the spring semester starting January 10. Students from Bee and eight surrounding counties may ride free if in Bee County or buy a $75 out-of-district pass at the Business Office during registration.
