Alfred Ray Cox Killed In Auto Wreck Wednesday
Two men died in a downtown traffic crash early Wednesday raising the year’s tally to 42 and 43. Paul Carl aged 29 of Nolan Street died at Baptist Memorial Hospital two hours after the wreck. Alfred R. Cox aged 20 of Dunning Avenue died at Brooke Army Hospital at 6 15 am. Carl drove a car in collision with one driven by James Edward Stevens of Ada Street in the 2300 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Stevens injured, Cox a passenger, with internal injuries and facial cuts. Carl’s car reportedly overturned after the collision. Alfred Ray Cox was the grandson of local residents and the son of Weston Cox of San Antonio.

Girl Killed In Auto Accident Near San Antonio
Aurora Salazar Longoria, 16, of Floresville, died on arrival at Robert B. Green Hospital after a car carrying five Floresville youths overturned several times on U S Highway 181 south of San Antonio. Driver Toney M Barrera, 20, was in Baptist Memorial Hospital in critical condition with head injuries.
