Santa Claus will make his annual appearance in Poth Texas arriving at 3 00 p m in the town plaza next to City Hall He is expected to see the kids as usual The event is sponsored by the Poth Chamber of Commerce
Texas Department of Public Safety Director Col Speir warned that Christmas and New Year traffic accidents could claim almost 100 lives in Texas. He projected 48 deaths during Christmas and 46 in the New Year period, from December 24 to 28 and December 31 to January 4, 1976, and outlined extensive enforcement under Operation Motorcide with local police and media collaboration.
Joe A Estrada announces candidacy for re election to County Commissioner Precinct 1 in Wilson County Texas, subject to Democratic Primary in May 1976. He pledges to continue to fulfill duties to the best of his ability and asks precinct voters for support in the upcoming election.

The U S Navy Band performed at Floresville High School on Wednesday December 17 in the auditorium from 9 40 to 10 50. The concert was part of the Navy Recruiting Command effort to spread holiday cheer and was brought to the school by lead recruiter John Swift.
The Wilson County Courthouse will close a half day on December 24 and remain closed all day December 25 and 26, affecting court operations and public services.
United States Savings Bond sales in Wilson County totaled 10 382 dollars during October. The month accounted for about 75 percent of the 1978 sales goal, with progress toward the annual target noted and the drive continuing.
